In this week’s email, we ask you to consider what's most important to you in a golf shoe, we take a look at how you voted in January's poll, and we look ahead to what's coming in February. Enjoy the read.

2018 is here and the golf season is fast approaching and Michael is available for lessons should you feel your swing needs a bit of a refresher before the competitions start.

It's a new era

Our January poll captured the imagination of many of you as we asked you to consider whether Tiger Woods would make a triumphant return to the fairways in 2018. Here are the final results:

• 58% think Tiger will fail to win a tournament this year
• 33% believe the American will win a PGA Tour event
• 9% believe he’ll get one closer to Jack Nicklaus’ major victories record

As we head into February, keep an eye out for our new poll later this week. With lots of the major brands releasing new products over the coming weeks, we want to know which one you’d like to try the most. Of course, we will be receiving lots of exciting bits next month so be sure to pop your head into the shop next time you're at the club.

We want to hear from you

As the 2018 golf season is fast approaching we want your feedback on what we are doing and what we could do to make your experience as a member or visitor to NFGC even better

Ideas we would love your feedback on:

• Bar – Happy with the choice of drinks? Opening times? Appearance?
• Catering – Views on menus & costs? Ideas for new items?
• Shop – Anything else you think we should stock?
• Course – Condition? Signage?
  

These are just a few ideas on possible feedback you can provide, however we are happy to listen to pretty much any thoughts.

If you could take the time to either fill out the forms in the clubhouse or to put your thoughts on an email to – marketing@newforestgolfclub.co.uk then it would be greatly appreciated.

Once we have enough feedback they will either be passed onto the member’s representative or on to the club council.

Competition results

"The Management" win the Saturday Winter Cup for the third consecutive year with a total stableford score of 81 points. Well played Ken Scott & Terry Jones super score chaps.

"3 Club Shield."

Alan Clarke (The Banker). Wins the “Over 70's Trophy" sponsored by Borda.

Winter League Semi Final Result, Ash & Ian beat Mark & Coops, 2&1. Well played Ash & Ian and great effort Mark & Coops, good game.

And this guy is currently unbeatable "The Grinder" wins Saturday Stableford with 40 points after count back, well played Chris.

Upcoming events

Our first social event of the year will be on Friday 23rd February, we will be running a traditional pub quiz with the added bonus of a £500 member’s draw. Keep an eye on the notice boards in the clubhouse for more information.
