There is still time to sign up for the Ladies Golf Month starting a week on Friday. I am really looking forward to introducing the great sport of Golf to you all.

The club held its regular Friday night social last week. The members draw for £100 was not claimed as the recipient was not at the Club. It now rolls over to £150 for the next event. Details of this will be announced shortly.

A glorious St George's day morning greeted the Men's Section for this year's Seve Ballesteros Trophy. A very tight competition was won by Ian Crossley with a very respectable 40 points.

 

A special mention to Gary Williams who scored an incredible 26 points on the back nine including an Eagle 2 on the 15th after driving the green. With his handicap he had a shot so technically it was a hole in one for 5 points! Great play Gary (don't ask him about his front 9!).


Saturday News 

The Saturday men are always on the lookout for members to join their fun competitions. After reading this report I'm sure you will agree that they are a fun bunch to go out and play with. For further details of how to get involved please contact Michael in the pro shop.

Summer Pairs Knockout Result - Coops & Brian beat Steve & Malc 4&3

Coops "Great start to the comp. My new partner Brian was outstanding. He may be not as sexy and as tall as my winter league partner but he rolled in the putts and drove well. I think this could be the start of something special."

Saturday Stableford Result

"The Hustler" (Dave Cardy) 39 points, well done Dave!!! Also good effort Ted with 38 points.

Mike offers his shoulder to "The Entertainer" and says "Steve it can be done. I never give up hope on anyone or anything. It's not a dream!!! I know one day Leeds United will return to the top league battling against United, City & Bournemouth and you Steve can win again and beat your Saturday Brothers! Let's start with your grip, squeezing your balls between your knees and don't let them drop!"

Finally, the big one is back next Saturday "The Green Jacket" (Hughes Trophy) "Over 70's" & "The Inflatable".


Seniors

New Forest GC welcomed the Ampfield Golf Club Seniors team last week, a good day was had by all and New Forest look forward to the return match. 

The New Forest team are already in training.


 

An Ace! Congratulations to Brian "Budgie" Bowles on his hole in one on the 11th. The members in the bar kept up with our club tradition and had a whip round in the bar for Brian. He then kindly donated this to the Captain's Charity. Well done Budgie we hope you enjoyed the pint!

Congratulations this week to Mick Plumb, Glenn Ekelund and Graham Ashley for having the correct bonus ball.

It is with sadness that we have to announce the passing of Mark Hooper. Mark had been an active member of the Club since 2001. We would like to pass on our sincere condolences to his family and friends.
