Well hopefully spring has sprung! It is great to see so many of you out on the course and also having lessons before the summer season kicks in. This Saturday I will be restarting junior lessons on Saturday's, so if you know of any children who would like to take up our wonderful game, then please get in touch with me for further details.


 

Generous members of New Forest Golf Club Men's Section were fundraising throughout 2016 for Past Club Captain Graham Lloyd's chosen charity.

The nominated charity for 2016 was Ben's Heroes Trust. Ben's Heroes Trust is a children's cancer charity founded in 2011 in memory of Ben Loyns, who tragically died of cancer in December 2010 at the age of 9.

They provide financial aid and support to assist children with cancer being treated in the UK, to gain access to new treatments/drugs not available on the NHS, and fund projects to improve their quality of life.

Money was raised by means of friendly fines to members participating in weekly Sunday morning competitions and from all golfers visiting the Club who hit their ball into the captain's nominated bunker.

Graham Lloyd handed over a cheque for £2700 to Kate Ross of Ben's Heroes Trust.


 

The men's section Winter League has now reached the semi-final stage with the games being scheduled for Sunday, 5 March. The first semi-final being played is the Holland brothers vs the Williams sisters while the second semi-final is Duckett and Waterman vs Lobley and Barrow. Good luck to all 4 pairs.

Entries are now being taken for the summer knockout competitions. If you wish to enter please contact the Vice Captain or the Club Office.
